Marine Conservation Bonaire is a leader in the movement for preservation of underwater resources and established one of the first marine parks in the Caribbean in 1979. Every diver must attend a diver orientation dealing with Bonaire Marine Park regulations and must pay an admission charge for which he/she receives a plastic Marine Park tag, which is necessary to legally dive in Bonaire's waters. The cost of the tag is US$25 for divers and US$10 for other users of watersports facilities such as snorkellers, kajakers, windsurfers. This fee is used to help support park management and services. Holder of a marine park tag also get into the Washingon Salgbaai National Park free of charge anytime they want during the valid year of the tag. |
