Bali

Bali is located 8 degrees south of the equator between Java in the west and Lombok in the east. It is one of the Indonesia’s 33 provinces with the provincial capital of Denpasar in the south of the island. The island is about 90km long and 80km wide and one of the most physically beautiful and culturally rich places in the world.

A chain of six volcanoes stretching from west to east dominates the landscape of this island. There are lush tropical forests, pristine crater lakes, fast flowing rivers and deep ravines, picturesque rice terraces and fertile fruit vegetable gardens. The beaches in the south are mostly of white sand, while beaches in other parts of the island are of grey or black volcanic sand.

Candidasa, whose name in Balinese means "Ten Temples", is the village where Lotus Bungalows is located. Situated on the east coast of Bali, 1.5 hours drive from the airport, Candidasa is home to many cultural attractions and the ideal base for explorations to see the spectacular unspoiled natural beauty of Bali. Enjoy the dramatic views of the sacred volcano Mount Agung, the lush green rice terraces and traditional villages.

Candidasa has become popular for all those visitors wanting to get away from Bali’s over-crowded and over-developed tourist centres in the southern part of the island. It is also perfectly located in to reach the best dive sites in Bali, including Candi Dasa's Tepekong Canyon, Tulamben's Liberty Wreck and Padang Bai's dive sites.
