Pulisan
If you want to experience the real, unspoilt Indonesia far removed from conventional tourism, then Pulisan is the place for you!

With only 8 bungalows and 15 minutes walk to the nearest village, Pulisan Jungle Beach Resort Resort does not offer the usual tourist facilities, but gives visitors a chance to meet the friendly locals and enjoy a totally peaceful and unspoilt beachfront setting on the edge of the rainforest.

You will sleep in basic, traditional "Minahasan style" wooden bungalows, eat truly local food, go to sleep with the sound of the jungle and the waves lapping onto shore, and have the chance to some incredible diving in completely unspoilt waters.

You will have your own little wooden bungalow with a veranda and attached bath, just a few meters from the beach. Every bed has a mosquito net and the bathrooms, except in two of the bungalows, do not feature running hot water, but a traditional Indonesian "mandi", which is a cement trough filled with fresh water from a well. Pouring water over you with a little plastic bucket is how the shower works - and it does work!

Pulisan Jungle Beach Resort resort is owned by a German lady who set up this small resort with the help of local farmers and fishermen. They love foreign visitors and will do their very best to make you feel welcome and comfortable during your stay. Although the accommodation is very simple and basic, it is clean, friendly and certainly very picturesque!

The white-sand beach is uninhabited and while it may be ideal for snorkelling right in front of the resort due to rocks and coral close to shore, you just have to stroll along the waters edge for about 5-10 minutes to find a stretch which is great for swimming.
