Marine Conservation The Grenada Fisheries started a program to protect the marine world around Grenada's shores. In 2001 a marine protected areas project was implemented, starting with a marine park stretching from Beau Sejour Bay to Grand Mall Bay. Within its boundaries fishing is restricted, spear fishing and anchoring are prohibited. The project also includes research on the under water life, taking samples and counting specimen. The project also is in the process of having all wrecks around Grenada protected and classified as marine historical sites. The Grenada Scuba Diving Association closely assists the management of the project.
